Nikki Glaser‘s strapless gown couldn’t contain her passion for dancing along to Taylor Swift ahead of the 2024 Golden Globes, as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction when it slipped down.
The awards show’s host, 40, shared an Instagram video on Sunday, January 5, set to Taylor’s “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” where she dramatically made similar movements to the singer’s Eras tour set for the song. However, her dress fell down twice to reveal nip slips, which Nikki covered with the word “oops.”
The comedian looked sensational in her pale gold Prabal Gurung gown with a gravity-defying bodice that she wore on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. Nikki was in full glam dancing along to Taylor, 35, flipping her cascading curls wildly as she lip-synched along to the song as her diamond drop earrings were tossed around.
Nikki captioned the video, “You really shouldn’t be…” as far as people being “afraid” of her, as the stand-up star is famed for her roasting talent, which she put to good use in her opening monologue.
Fans went wild for the post, with one person writing, “And the Golden Globe for Best Wardrobe Malfunction of her Golden Globe goes to….you girlfriend!!” Another added, “Haaaaa! Just a quick ‘gotta shoot something for the Swifties’ break!” One fan gushed, “YESSS! Icon status bringing a Taylor moment to the hosting duties,” while several others told Nikki she did Taylor “proud.”
Nikki changed into a plunging silver sequin gown for her opening monologue, where she put a number of celebrities on the spot with her cutting humor.
She poked fun at how Selena Gomez‘s fans have been critical of her engagement to Benny Blanco, some of whom have thought he isn’t sexy enough for the Only Murders in the Building star. “Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish. Man, lucky guy,” Nikki joked as Selena, 32, and Benny, 36, were shown on screen in the audience. While the Emilia Pérez actress looked somewhat nervous, Benny sweetly kissed his fiancée on the shoulder following the joke.
Nikki also got a big laugh when she complimented Timothée Chalamet‘s slight mustache, telling him, “Can I just say you have the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip? I think this is just such a good look.”
Prior to the Golden Globes, Nikki revealed what a massive Swiftie she is, admitting that she spent nearly $100,000 seeing 22 of Taylor’s Eras tour shows over the duration of the 21-month world tour.
“I want to be clear that we’re including travel expenses, hotels, and me also flying and putting up everyone that I would invite to go with me, plus tickets, plus merch,” she told People on December 19, 2024.
Nikki said that the amount she spent was “all well worth it,” and, “I would’ve paid even more.”
“I justify that cost because I don’t have kids, and it’s something that I consciously decided not to do, and it was something that I struggled with,” the Someday You Will Die HBO special star explained.
“It wasn’t the easiest decision. There was a part of me that was like, ‘I would like kids,’ but it just doesn’t fit in my life. And so, in order for me to make myself feel better about the decision, I did look up how much it cost to raise a kid. And so, once I saw that number, I thought, ‘It’s no problem for me to spend this on Taylor Swift,’” Nikki added.
